Gingerbread Houses, But Make It Cat-Friendly
Posted on December 6, 2025 by Rachel Slack
This week I tried something completely unexpected: I made a gingerbread house… for my cat. Honestly? It might be my new favorite holiday tradition.
Armed with Merrick crunchy bites, a few soft treats, and way too much holiday cheer, I got to work. My cat, of course, had their own ideas, patrolling the table, swatting at decorations, and sneaking bites whenever I wasn’t looking. Clearly, they were running the project. I was just along for the ride.
Watching them “inspect” the house was priceless. Every paw tap and intense stare made me laugh, and by the time the roof went on, they were curled up nearby like they’d just claimed their holiday kingdom. The house didn’t need to be perfect, lopsided candy and crooked roof included, but the joy was real.
If your cat loves a little festive fun, try something similar. Build a cat-friendly gingerbread house, sprinkle in some Merrick treats, and snuggle up with your furry friend. This season isn’t about Pinterest-perfect crafts, it’s about cozy chaos, playful paws, and making memories that sparkle as much as the holiday lights.
