Sticky Fingers, Big Smiles: The Easiest Candy Sushi

By Cassi Anderson5mo

2 min read

When I envisioned myself as a mom before having kids I thought of cute curated snacks and fun crafts. However, I have four kids now and although I love the idea of being a “Pinterest” mom, I feel that more often I resonate with the Amazon Prime moms of the world. This recipe is the perfect combination of both. So, head to your pantry, because most of these ingredients are probably already in there...no two day shipping required!

Ingredients:

  • 4 fruit roll-ups
  • 1 package Smart Sweets Sweet Fish
  • 2 Cups of Rice Krispies
  • 1 TBS of Butter
  • 1 cup of Marshmallows

Directions:

  • Melt butter in a microwave safe bowl.
  • Add marshmallows and stir to combine.
  • Continue to melt in 30 second intervals.
  • Add Rice Krispies and stir until well combined.
  • Lay a fruit roll up on a cutting board and spread the Rice Krispie mix out. The more you use the thicker your sushi roll will be. Add two Sweet Fish to the center.
  • Roll up tightly.
  • Cut into rolls with a sharp knife.
  • Enjoy! (Bonus points if you use Chopsticks!)

Notes:

  • This recipe can be customized in so many ways!
  • You can sub different candy options like gummy worms or Swedish fish depending on your preferences. I liked the Smart Sweet, because they’re a softer consistency versus “gummy”.
  • This is a kid-friendly recipe and my kids had fun helping with this one. I did help with the cutting, because a sharper knife makes a cleaner cut to help this look more like sushi!

I hope you kids have as much fun with this Candy Sushi as we did! This is a fun snack that will get your kids helping in the kitchen and making a fun treat they will talk about time and time again!
