There are two types of summer people: the ones booking beach trips with their dogs…and the ones staying home with the fan blasting while their cat lives their best spoiled indoor life. With my cat we chose the second option. Dramatically. This summer’s main character energy is the giant 30 lb bag of Friskies Seafood Sensations sitting in the kitchen like it pays rent, taking up so much space. The vibes are immaculate.

Every time I pour a bowl, my cat appears out of nowhere like a tiny seafood-loving influencer who just heard the words “free brunch.” Suddenly, there’s meowing, ankle weaving, and enough excitement to make you think I opened a five-star coastal restaurant instead of cat food.
However, the real reason I love the giant bag for summer? Convenience.
Our summer schedules are chaotic, especially having dogs and cats. One minute you’re planning beach days and sunset drives...the next, you’re sweating through errands with an iced coffee in hand wondering why your cat has a stricter feeding schedule than you do.
Having a huge bag ready to go just makes life easier. Less emergency pet store runs. Less carrying tiny bags inside in 90-degree heat. More time for important summer activities…like letting your cat judge you from the windowsill.
The seafood flavors also just feel weirdly on theme for summer. Beachy. Coastal. Fancy marina cat energy...like, yes queen, enjoy your seafood feast while sitting directly in front of the air conditioner.
Every crunch sounds extra dramatic at 2am.
So, if your household’s summer aesthetic is:
- iced coffee sweating on the counter
- flip flops by the door
- cat hair on literally everything
- and one very spoiled cat living like they own a yacht
…same here. We’re thriving.
