Halloween has a way of making dinner feel like an afterthought. Between getting costumes together, finding the candy you definitely bought but somehow can’t find, getting the kids out the door, heading to a Halloween party, or just trying to make it home from work before everything starts, nobody really wants to spend an hour making dinner on October 31. My idea? Keep it scary easy.
I’m pretty disciplined about food most of the time. I train, pay attention to what I eat, and generally try not to make a habit out of grabbing whatever is easiest just because I’m tired. However, I also think there are nights when dinner does not need to become another project, and Halloween night is definitely one of them.
Having a couple of TOMBSTONE pizzas in the freezer comes in clutch. Pizza already feels like it belongs on Halloween. It’s easy, everyone can grab a slice between whatever else is going on, and you do not have a sink full of dishes waiting for you at the end of the night.
Throw a TOMBSTONE pizza in the oven while everyone is getting ready and dinner basically handles itself. There are four flavors to choose from: Pepperoni, 4 Meat, Supreme, and 5 Cheese, so you can grab a couple depending on what everyone likes. Pepperoni is the classic, no-thought-required choice. If I’m really hungry, I’m probably going for 4 Meat. Supreme gives you a little bit of everything, and 5 Cheese is a solid option on its own or as a starting point if you like adding whatever you already have in the kitchen. Jalapeños, crushed red pepper, leftover chicken, hot honey, go for it. On Halloween night, that’s about as complicated as I want dinner to get. If you have people coming over, put out a couple different flavors, cut them up, and let everybody grab what they want. There’s a time for cooking a full meal, and there’s a time for admitting you have approximately 59 other things going on. Halloween falls into the second category.
If you have kids, you’re probably trying to get everybody fed before trick-or-treating so their first meal of the night isn’t six pieces of candy. If you are heading to a party, you probably need something quick before you leave. If you are staying home handing out candy, pizza and a Halloween movie sounds like a pretty good setup to me. It also beats realizing at 7:30 p.m. that nobody ate dinner and opening a delivery app along with everybody else in your neighborhood. Having something already in the freezer takes one decision off your plate.
There’s also pretty good timing on this one for Commissary shoppers. TOMBSTONE 5 Cheese, 4 Meat, Supreme, and Pepperoni pizzas will be on sale at the Commissary from Thursday, October 29 through Sunday, November 1, 2026.
That means you can grab a few right before Halloween, use them for an easy October 31 dinner, and keep an extra one or two in the freezer for the weekend. Even after Halloween night is over, there’s a decent chance you are not going to feel like making an elaborate meal the next day either. I am a big believer in having backup meals at home. Not because you’re planning to eat frozen pizza every night, but because real life rarely follows the exact schedule you had in your head that morning.
Put one in the oven, grab a slice, and get back to the important decisions of the night… like whether you’re watching an actual horror movie or something that won’t have you checking every dark corner of the house before bed.
