Let's Make Ambrosia Salad Like Grandma Used to Make It!

By Jenn D8mo

1 min read

Oh My YUM!  I grew up on ambrosia salad.  It was a staple in my grandmother's house.  I mean, it literally has all of my favorite fruits and don't forget the marshmallows too!  I was thinking about her the other day and decided to make some and I wanted to share the recipe with you!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Pineapple Chunks or Tidbits, drained
  • 1 cup Mandarin Oranges, drained
  • 1 cup Maraschino Cherries, drained & no stems
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Directions:

  • In a medium bowl, add the sour cream.
  • Whisk the sour cream to remove any lumps.
  • Fold in the pineapple, mandarin oranges, cherries, and mini marshmallows until combined.
  • Cover your salad and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Serve cold and enjoy!

Notes:

  • You could add coconut, peaches, pears, or any other fruits that you would like.
  • This recipe could easily be doubled or tripled for bigger events.

This is so yummy and refreshing!  It takes me back to my childhood and I am sure this will be a great salad for your family to enjoy!
