Oh My Yum!!! This is a family favorite of ours and we enjoy this many times throughout the year! I don't know if you would call it a salad or a dessert...or maybe both?!?! Call it whatever you want as long as I can have some too!

Ingredients:
- 2 cups pretzels, crushed
- ¾ cup margarine, melted
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup sugar
- 8 oz. Cool Whip, thawed
- 6 oz. pkg. strawberry Jell-O
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 – 10 oz. pkgs. frozen sliced strawberries
Directions:
- Melt margarine in 9 x 13 glass pan.
- Crush pretzels in a Ziploc bag.
- Gently pat them evenly in the melted butter.
- Bake at 400º for 8 minutes.
- Let cool.
- Cream together cream cheese and ½ cup sugar; fold in Cool Whip.
- Spread over cooled pretzel mixture ensuring you cover all the edges.
- Completely dissolve the Jell-O using 2 cups boiling water.
- Stir gelatin mixture into frozen strawberries.
- Separate strawberries as you stir together.
- Gently pour gelatin/strawberries on top of cream cheese layer.
- Refrigerate until firm.

Notes:
- The most important step is making sure you "seal" your white fluff to all edges so that no pretzels are exposed! If they are, then your pretzels will get soggy from the Jell-o being added in, and nobody wants that!
- You can also modify this with other flavors of Jell-o and fruits...our second favorite is Black Cherry! YUM! However, I have seen orange (with mandarin oranges) and pineapple as well!
- A different type of modification is to make it a bit healthier by making ingredient swaps for low calorie, low or zero sugar items, reduced fat, etc. I have made this before and the only difference we have noticed is that the Jell-o doesn't form as much as the regular version does!
We LOVE this recipe and make it quite frequently! I hope your family enjoys it as much as we do!
