How to Decorate Your Tree!
Donโt you love this time of the year?! Recently, someone asked how you get your tree to look balanced with decor? The trick is to decorate in stages.
Our friend and fellow military spouse, Kristin, gave us these great tips on how to decorate the perfectly “balanced” tree ๐
Note: The tree pictured is 8 feet tall and has soft white lights.
Once the tree is put together, plug it in so you can see the lights while decorating. (if decorating with a real tree, place the lights on the tree and then plug in the lights).
Then place the wide burlap ribbon (you can find it as holiday tree mesh which is about 12-18 inches wide). The tree mesh used in the photo is 15 inches wide by 15 feet long. It took three rolls of tree mesh to decorate this tree.
Youโll want to place your ornaments in stages. Each stage is โlikeโ ornaments. So, all pinecones and then all poinsettias, then glitter antlers, then brown card stock deer, then red glitter deer, then burlap Christmas balls, then wood/twig ornaments, and last would be any ornaments that you only have 1 of. Working in stages helps balance the tree and ensure that ornaments are spread out and not clumped together.
In this picture, two tree skirts were used to create the layered look. Happy decorating, and feel free to share your Christmas tree photos.
