I love Easter, even though it does not get as much attention as Christmas, it is still a wonderful Holiday! Unfortunately, here we are… another  “quarantined” Easter  that may look a little different  but can still be a great one to remember with these simple budget friendly tips.

Baskets, and candy and grass oh my!!!

Ahhh those notorious baskets filled with ….GRASS!!! I get anxious  just thinking about the mess. NOT THIS YEAR GREEN GRASS!!!

Use a basket or pail you already have at home and fill it with things your kids may need or activities they can do (i.e. socks, crayons, chalk, coloring books, straws, cards, books, underwear (yes, I have been known to give my daughter undies for Easter, and she loved them 😉 .  All these things  are inexpensive and can be shipped to you from Amazon or any online retailer that ships…Just get creative!

Homemade

Reality is homemade gifts may be our only option this year, and theres nothing wrong with that! I found some AMAZING homemade gift ideas:

Family Easter Egg Hunt

There are usually Easter egg hunt events put on around this time of year … but with a pandemic running rampant there sadly won’t be any. But that doesn’t mean you cant do your own!  Use plastic eggs from last year, or regular eggs…it doesn’t matter, kids love finding both 🙂 If you happen to have plastic eggs, fill with things you may have in the house: coins, fruit snacks, stickers..etc.  One idea I came across was putting separate  puzzle pieces  in all the eggs and then once they found the eggs they have to put the puzzle together!

Want to try something new with the Easter egg hunts? How about bunny footprints, an Easter egg scavenger hunt or an Easter egg decoder? All sound like fun right?!? Check out these ideas and more at http://www.sheknows.com/parenting/articles/954159/easter-egg-hunt-ideas-you-havent-thought-about.

Dye-ing Eggs

Did you know you may already have the ingredients you need to dye your eggs without having to leave the house? Things like crayons(pictured above), food coloring, or Kool aid (pictured below)  and even veggies!!? I found this great website  that gives you all sorts of ideas to dye eggs with things you may already have in your home. They also have awesome ideas if you want to step the egg dyeing up a notch…glitter, character themed eggs, or confetti  filled eggs.

Easter Décor

I love decorating for Easter but I don’t like to spend  money on  things that won’t be up long. So this year I was racking my brain, trying to come up with  some easy, yet inexpensive Easter décor, with things I had at home.  I usually  pick a favorite Easter candy such as jelly beans  and put them in a class jar as a centerpiece . However, this year I’m cutting back on sweets and don’t trust myself with an open container of sugary deliciousness, so I found some other great ideas that I cannot wait to try…such as this cute bunny bottom garland:

And how about these  little Easter candy jars made out of baby food jars?

I mean really?!? How much cuter and simpler can it get!!! Check out  Country Living for the “how to’s” on these crafts and so many more 🙂

Easter  Fun

There are so many other games  and activities you can do to have a grand ole time on Easter besides the traditional Easter egg hunt, big gatherings and big feasts. Create your own new memories and traditions this year as a family and have a Hoppy Easter!
