DIY Orange and Cranberry Garland

Posted on November 23, 2020 by Kate S.

As 2020 is THANKFULLY coming to a much needed close, I realized there have been some positives to this year one of them being …

More time at home and a slower pace of life.

Meaning I have been able to tap into my very inner, crafty self, that hides under the deep dark depths of my busy and chaotic brain.

Enter my newest project: A DIY garland, that cost me less than $5 to make.

What I used:

Oranges

Cranberries

Twine (or any sort of string.)

Greenery (I used boxwood from my backyard, but you can use any greenery on hand or none at all!)

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Cut oranges into thin slices, lay flat and pat dry, then lay slices flat on parchment paper and put into the oven for 2.5 hours or until slices are dried out.

2. Once Oranges are done and cooled off, I started threading the oranges and cranberries through twine (I used a skewer to poke a hole through both.) Continue until garland is to your desired length!

Then use to deck your halls!

I wound up having some leftover scraps of oranges and decided to use the leftovers as ornaments and decorations for gift wrapping!

Simple, easy (seriously, if I could do it, so can you) and BEAUTIFUL! So the next time you are at the Commissary grab some oranges and cranberries and tap into your inner crafty self!
