Posted on December 1, 2023 by Rachel Slack
With the holidays right around the corner we can quickly get caught up in all of the “to do’s” whether it is to finish holiday shopping or pickup groceries for the family dinner or holiday party. This year take some time, maybe once a week, to set aside time to go on a date with your significant other.
- Ice Skating – Whether you are young or old you can always learn how to ice skate, so even if you don’t know how to head to your local rink and learn and enjoy the fun time on the ice.
- Neighborhood Christmas Lights – Christmas lights are everywhere every year so this wont be hard to find. Hop in your car and go for a drive down the road and admire the creative decorations people put up this year!
- Hot Coco and Christmas Movies – Don’t want to do too much one night? No problem, whip up some hot coco and throw on your childhood favorite holiday movies and the hallmark channel and call it a night.
- Sledding/Skiing/Snowboarding – It’s not winter season without a bit of snow. If you are lucky enough to get snow enjoy it for a day or maybe even to. Head out and hit the slopes , especially when there is fresh powder on the ground.
- Gingerbread Houses – Decorate a house together, or better yet, have fun and be competitive and make it a competition for the best decorated. You could even upload photos of the finished results on social media and have friends and family vote.
- Christmas Tree Farm – Hi ho hi ho off to work you guys go! Chop down your tree and take it back home with you to spend the rest of the evening decorating.
- Grab dinner out in town and window shop
- Weekend getaway – Are you close to the beach or the mountains? If it was me I would be headed into the mountains for a cabin stay!
- Make Snow Ice Cream – Ice Cream? Snow Cream? Mmmmm sounds so good and only 5 ingredients.
- Stargazing – Go on your roof, the hood of your car, in the back of a truck, or cuddle up on a bench. Where ever you are grab a blanket and wrap yourself up for the night and enjoy the view on a clear night.
- Ding Dong Ditch Christmas Style – Spend a day in the kitchen baking your favorite cookies and treats. Then go and play ding dong ditch on some of your favorite people or neighbors and leave some treats behind for them to find!
- Build a Snowman – “Do you want to build a snowman?”. Don’t forget a carrot for its nose!
