Ciao! Let’s Head to Rome!

If you’ve ever been to Europe, you know there are so many countries to explore. I highly recommend you take advantage of all the travel opportunities if you are ever lucky enough to be stationed overseas. It’s surprisingly easy to travel from one country to another. A few years ago, my family got a chance to travel to Rome, Italy and it was so much fun. Rome is filled with history and the sights, sounds and cuisine are sure to have you wanting to return again and again.

We took a weekend trip from our duty station in England and got to explore some of the most popular tourist attractions like The Colosseum, The Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Steps, St. Peter’s Basilica and The Pantheon.

Our trip to The Trevi Fountain was a memory I will never forget. Luckily, we went later in the evening, so the colors illuminated the area. I thought it was very beautiful.

We also got to visit St. Peter’s Basilica which is in the Vatican City. It felt surreal visiting landmarks that I’ve only read about or seen on TV. Rome is filled with ancient ruins, and we took some amazing pictures. Two of my favorite pictures from that trip were my kids standing in front of the Colosseum and a family photo we took walking through the Roman Forum. While exploring the city, we got a chance to enjoy the street performers, gift shops, authentic Italian pizza, and we indulged in lots of gelato.

Our trip to Rome was unforgettable. If you ever have the chance to go, I highly recommend it. I wonder what country in Europe you would like to visit someday?!?!
