Our Military Family Secret Santa Tradition

As a military family, we’re often stationed far from our extended family, but we still want to celebrate holidays and birthdays together. Thankfully, Elfster has become our go-to app for those special holidays. We use it to organize our Secret Santa for Christmas and share our handpicked wish lists for birthdays. Then, we come together on Christmas to open those gifts with each other and reveal who we received as our Secret Santa!

Elfster makes Secret Santa easy by assigning names to each participant anonymously. Plus, with the app’s wish list feature, we are each able to take the stress off of our Secret Santa shopper by telling them (with links) exactly what we would like that year.

Wishlist Favorites: My Top Elfster Picks

I’ve received some amazing gifts through Elfster, and two of my favorites that I have used daily since receiving them are a glass water bottle and a candle warmer, both from Amazon. The glass water bottle has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen cabinets and daily life. Unlike plastic bottles, this one doesn’t leave any weird aftertaste, and it holds 64 oz of water, which is filled up twice a day to help me meet my daily water intake goals. Plus, it’s spill-proof and sturdy with two different options to carry it and two different options to drink!

Another great gift was this candle warmer, which has been a game-changer for making my home feel cozy and smell amazing using some of my favorite scents. This can be especially useful in military housing, where sometimes open flames aren’t an option or if you have children. The candle warmer gives the option to change the heat setting so hopefully no one gets burned by the wax at this cooler temperature! Plus, the dimmable feature also lets me control how intense the aroma is, allowing me to create the perfect signature scent in my home.

Why We Love Elfster

Elfster helps keep our family traditions alive, no matter how far apart we are. It has been an amazing way for us to stay connected and celebrate birthdays and holidays, even when we’re not together.
