Creating a magnetic story board is an easy and inexpensive way to spark creativity in your child. It allows them to develop characters, create stories, expand their vocabulary, and use their imagination.

The total cost to create a story board like the one pictured was $23 and all items were purchased at Hobby Lobby.

The magnetic dry erase board was on sale and purchased for $8.99 (but is regularly priced at $14.99) The wooden pieces are already cut and painted and can be found in the wooden crafts aisle of Hobby Lobby (they range in price from $.60 to $1.50 each).

You can purchase a package of self-adhesive magnets for $1.99 from Hobby Lobby. I found that the adhesive doesn’t stick very well to the painted wood, so I used a hot glue gun to place a small amount of glue on the wooden cut outs to make sure the magnets stay put. You could also use crafters glue or crazy glue for the magnets.

This is such an easy project and only took about 15-20 minutes to complete before my daughter could start playing with it and I have to say, any project that keeps a toddler occupied for over an hour is well worth it haha.
