My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship Program

What is MyCAA?

Are you a military spouse desiring to obtain a license, certification, or an associate degree for employment in a portable career field? Funded by the Department of Defense, the MyCAA program may open that door for you by providing up to $4,000 in financial assistance to military spouses.

Who is Eligible?

Spouses of service members in pay grades E-1 to E-9; W-1 to W-3; and O-1 to O-3 are eligible and can start and complete their coursework while their military sponsor is on active duty. Spouses of the National Guard and reserve components in these same pay grades, if the member is on Title 10 orders, are also eligible. If the service member gets promoted to a rank that makes the spouse ineligible, the spouse remains eligible as long as their approved training plan was in place before the promotion.

What Career Fields are Eligible for MyCAA?

There are programs and certifications for careers such as Aerospace, Animal Services, Automotive Services and Transportation, Business, Finance and Administration, Construction, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Hospitality, Information Technology, and Legal.  Additionally, there are skilled trade options such as Aesthetician or Skin Care Specialist, Barber, Colorist, Cosmetologist, Designer, Journalist, Make-up Artist, Mortuary Science, Musical Instrument Repair, Nail Technician, Photographer, Sales Manager, Translator/Interpreter, Writer/Editor, Yoga, Nursing and more.
