About Intrepid Museum Military Discounts

The Intrepid Museum in New York City is built around the historic aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, with the space shuttle Enterprise, a Concorde, and the submarine Growler among its exhibits. Fittingly, the Intrepid Museum military discount is one of the strongest in the city: U.S. veterans and military service members receive free admission with valid ID, year-round. Spouses of active-duty service members receive 20% off admission, and veterans also get 20% off Individual, Dual and Family memberships. The museum accepts a wide range of credentials, active duty, retiree or reservist military ID (DD Form 2 or 2A), civilian retiree card, DD-214 discharge papers, a state-issued veteran designation on a driver's license, or the VA Veterans ID Card. This is a standing benefit redeemed in person at ticketing, and the museum also runs dedicated veterans and military family programs throughout the year. Regular adult admission runs $38, so the free military ticket is a substantial saving.

Not necessarily. The Intrepid Museum offer covers general admission, and the terms note that special exhibits and experiences may be ticketed separately. Veterans and service members get in free with valid ID, but a simulator or special exhibition may carry its own fee. Ask at ticketing which experiences are included on the day you visit.

Yes. The Intrepid Museum accepts reservist and retiree military ID cards, and the offer lists retirees and Reserves among eligible groups alongside active duty members and veterans. Bring your ID to the ticket counter to receive free admission. A civilian retiree card and state-issued veteran designations are also accepted forms of proof.

The published spouse discount applies to spouses of active duty service members, who receive a percentage off admission. Spouses of veterans are not named in the Intrepid Museum terms, so the discount may not apply to them. Ask at ticketing when you visit, and bring documentation of the service member's status either way.
